changes made to the trailer

when we started to film our trailer we realised that were gong to have to change a lot of our original plans. this included the character we were using, the types of shots that we wanted to do and the locations. WE first decided that we had to change some of our characters as it was hard to find a time where there were all free to film due to other commitments that they had. we then decided to use characters that were a bit younger than we had originally planned as they were less likely to have work commitments and school deadlines. we kept three of the original chapters and the other three we had to change. we also had to change the shots that we wanted to use. this was because when we first filmed them we decided that they didn't look as good has we had hoped and they were not as effective. to try and make our shots more effective we added more close up shots to create a more tense atmosphere. another thing that we discovered when we started filming was that we were going to have to change our locations for the trailer. our main location for the trailer was an abandoned house in the local village. however when i went to view this house it was 30 minute walk on a muddy track which would have made it very difficult for us to carry all of our equipment there carefully and safely. when i reached the ouse and went inside, although it would have been the perfect setting for our film we realised that it wasn't safe enough for us to film there. it would have also been difficult to film there as we would have to rely on the natural lighting which would have ruined the effect of the footage. instead of filming in the abandoned house we made a decision to film in our schools drama studio. we decided to film here as it is very accessible and it is safe for all of the actors and actresses. using the drama studio as one of our main locations was very useful as it also meant that we could take full advantage of using the good lighting and position it the way that we wanted. the hide the fact that the location was the school drama studio we used black curtains around the room to block out the natural light and make it look as if it was in a dark scary house. the black curtains were also very useful as they gave us a plain background that we could film against. another thing that we had to change in the trailer was some of the props that we were using. during the trailer we removed all of the props that could be used as weapons. we did this as it wouldn't be safe for us to use these around the school and it could us and others to have an accident.
